Kira is a journalist, filmmaker, and producer. She is currently the senior development producer for AJC Studios, where she transforms world-class reporting by the Atlanta-Journal Constitution into series and films.
As a journalist and creative executive, she intimately understands the delicate balance of telling true but highly entertaining stories.
Kira graduated with honors from the Columbia School of Journalism in 2024, where she focused on documentary filmmaking. She was a 2024 Pulitzer Center Reporting Fellow for her short documentary, THE ENCAMPMENT.
Previously, she worked on the CNN Original Series team. In this capacity, she worked closely on details pertaining to the ongoing development and production of CNN Original Series including Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy, Murdochs: Empire of Influence, and Watergate: Blueprint for Scandal. She has developed projects alongside award-winning production companies including Story Syndicate, Scout, ZPZ, Part2 Pictures, The Documentary Group, and more.
Additionally, she worked closely with the CNN Audio team and has produced joint CNN Original Series & Films/CNN Audio podcasts including When Diana Met… hosted by Aminatou Sow, Behind the Desk: The Story of Late Night with Bill Carter, and Three Identical Strangers: The Science Behind The Story with Dr. Sanjay Gupta.
Beyond her work at CNN, she has served as a non-fiction shorts programmer at the Bushwick Film Festival. Her undergrad studies focused on Contemporary Culture and Creative Production at NYU, with a culminating thesis that focused on the female gaze in film festivals.
Kira is originally from San Francisco and is now based out of New York City.
